I've been gone from this page for long and excuse me for my long absence. Aside from being occupied w/everyday things, I have attended one convention as of lately and right now, I'm working on saving up for my 1st out of state convention; Phoenix Comicon 2014.

I have new projects lined up for the year, but new projects are at a halt for now b/c the SUV I'm getting from a relative needs to have work done and it's a lot better in performance than the clunker car I have. I'm no longer intending on using that clunker anymore, its condition isn't made to be driven anymore (I've had too many problems with it and tired of spending money on something that'll get worse). The SUV, despite its share of problems, but it's in better shape.

I will have pictures posted when I got the spare time. As of now, I'm working on improving my current cosplay inventory. A cosplay is almost never finished for me; When looking at a photo of myself in cosplay, I always leave out something else that I add onto later on.

While work on the SUV needs to be done, I'm saving up as much as I can for my out of state trip to Arizona for Phoenix Comicon of 2014. I have chosen this convention b/c they're more friendly on mock weapons, just like the local cons I've attended. Also, I'm meeting up with other cosplayers I know through Facebook. Knowing people through a screen is one thing, but getting to meet them in person is a whole different experience and I look forward to meeting new people and getting connected more.

Until then, I'll keep everyone else updated on what I'm up to.

So now convention season is in the dark for now and the next convention I'm looking to attend is still in the dark since they've yet to announce location of Anime Vegas 2013. Reason so, from what I've heard is that the parties the con staff is trying to reach out to has yet to accept the agreement and terms on their contract to have the convention where they want to have it at. My guess is that they're trying to get at a hotel to have the convention at and no answers yet. As much as it upsets me, but even the staff are just as upset. If nothing pops up soon, they might have to postpone the convention until possibly veteran's day weekend. I just hope it isn't Alexis Park, man I fucking wish that place doesn't exist. It was a bad move to have the con there b/c of small space and hard to take pictures without interrupting traffic.

That's the end of the con drama that's going on, other than that, I've started to commence on the Leon Kennedy project. I'm referring to the outfits that Kennedy wore in RE6, the Tall Oaks and China version. I already have a good amount of clothing to start, just slightly more gear that helps give that appearance of Leon stand out as if I'm really the character. Also, Leon is the first character cosplay I'm working on that requires me to have a wig, since I can't have that kind of hair b/c my job where I work at doesn't allow me to have that much hair, so I'd have to rely on a wig that looks the part and I wouldn't look good wearing. Other than that, everything else is easy to get from there, such as tactical gear (A big thanks to Evike.com and AirsoftGI.com for their support)

I also have a surprise announcement that I've been holding back on and kept within my FB account and my cosplay page that I run. I'm also working on a new cosplay along with the Leon project that I'm working on at the moment. The new cosplay will be an operative of a fictional special forces group not affiliated with Resident Evil, but to Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six franchise. For those who played Rainbow Six, you'd know those games for their realism and difficulty of the missions that you'd get killed easily if you're not thinking tactical. This franchise has been in the dark lately since the COD franchise dominates the FPS industry or the gaming market in general. I feel that Rainbow Six needs a wake-up call and bring it back alive by cosplaying as a counter-terrorist operative of Rainbow, even though not many people these days would recognize it unless they paid attention to the patches I just ordered to get my Rainbow operative started. If you guys don't know what Rainbow Six is, then go look them up on youtube and watch some of the gameplay footage of some of their games. Even though this is a no-brainer, but I'm sure another cosplayer or attendee will think my Rainbow Six cosplay has that affiliation with RE, although I'd have to correct them about it if they asked, bonus points if they know what game franchise my operative is from. I already have the patches with the logo of the United Nations with "RAINBOW" written over the logo.

For my thoughts on this, this is an issue that has been going on at conventions that involve cosplaying and I want to make my voice heard on this and increase the awareness on this and how we can stop this from getting worse. Whether you're a female or male, it breaks my heart when people who have worked so hard on their cosplays and they get harassed for it instead of complimenting. While this is more common with female cosplayers, but even males are victimized by this. It starts off in many ways, but I'll just list common tricks by the morons who instigate these incidents. From taking innappropriate shots of a female's panty shot or cleavage, those kinds of shots are done in secret and without the consent of the cosplayer. There's also the attendee doing something inappropriate in the picture or they ask you a question that's not appropriate to ask. From sex-related questions to compliments, the cosplayer only end up disgusted by what the perps are doing. Sometimes, nobody does anything b/c they feel scared to step up and people would say "Well you are having parts of your body showing, expect it." As for me, I don't ever go by that and nobody should be saying this like that. Just b/c someone is revealing parts of their bodies in a cosplay they're wearing, doesn't mean you have their consent to say something sexually inappropriate or a compliment of that nature.

For those being victimized by this, don't hesitate to step up and tell those offenders to back off. If they continue to pursue you in a manner like that, that's what convention staff and security is for. As much as we all like to ridicule the security staff for their rentacop outfits, but they're there for valid reason(s) and that's to assist convention staff and make sure everything is going allright. Let them know what is happening and if you can, try to point them out so they can handle the situation from there. If the perps don't listen, then it's the out the door for them and hope that you don't run into people like that again. If you don't feel comfortable being alone with the cosplay you're wearing, bring a friend to accompany you or a group to make things better for you and be there on the spot to tell people they're going too far and need to step off and don't hesitate to confront them. Sometimes, it doesn't always happen b/c the cosplayer might feel overpowered by the offenders and are afraid to say anything.

For all the other cosplayers out there, if you suspect something on a cosplayer getting sexually harassed, regardless of their gender and don't hesitate to stand up for them. Especially for those dressed up as a heroic character, don't be afraid to demonstrate the ideals of that hero and stand up for those getting harassed. It might make you feel boastful, but the cosplayer(s) getting harassed will never forget that someone has saved their day before it got worse. No matter what, whether you're in cosplay or not and see harassment at conventions, don't be afraid to tell those sickos to back off and let them know it's not cool of what they're doing.

I maybe a guy who dresses up operatives from Resident Evil, whether I'm a cold-blooded ruthless Umbrella agent, a UBCS merc, RPD or BSAA, I decided to make a vow for myself that I will do my part by standing up for those victims and give them a hand to ward off the morons that caused the harassment. Hell, I'll even snitch on them to con staff and security to haul their asses out of the convention. We should all step up for our cosplayers and let these idiots be aware that what they're doing isn't right. It's all our jobs be aware of this issue and work together to keep it from getting worse and better yet; prevent them from happening.

To spread awareness on this issue, I'll be having a board that says "Cosplay isn't Consent" or whatever the cosplayer(s) I'm picturing write something on the board to combat harassment at cons by holding up these signs. I'm doing this boost up this cause and to let those who deserve help know that there's people out there that care and we're not just there for the pictures, we're there to help each other. These conventions are supposed to be a place to have a good time, being with friends, meeting people and getting compliments for your hard work. It shouldn't be a nightmare to begin with, it's already difficult enough with what goes on at the convention and getting stressed out.

To those taking inappropriate shots, if you're looking for sexy, then the stripper club is the place for you to do that and be pleased by them, don't make victims out of the cosplayers, they're not there to please you sexually. If you don't want confrontation, then STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING OR WE'LL REPORT YOUR BEHAVIOR TO THE APPROPRIATE PERSONEL AND HAVE YOUR ASS HAULED FROM THE CONVENTION!!! For those who invest their time doing that, here's the middle finger salute to you asswipes!

Again, despite I haven't completed my BSAA projects yet, but I'm now announcing plans to cosplay an actual character and that is Leon S. Kennedy. I'm going to get the gear he's worn when he went to China. I didn't think this was going to happen, but I'm going to go for it. I'm not going to let the race card stop me just b/c the protagnist I want to cosplay is of a different race, last time I checked; I have no room for discrimination, especially in cosplay. Only thing I got to do is to find a tac vest matching what he wore, shoulder holsters and and extra leg holster since he can dual wield 9mils. I may not have a pistol that resembles what he had, but I can always use my samurai edge customs for that. That's what those guns are for, I don't intend on using them for airsoft gaming b/c I don't want to wear out from too much usage, I prefer not to do that to avoid finding replacement parts. Other than that, I'll be set for Kennedy.

After Leon is complete, I'm making plans to work on an operative of the UBCS (Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service). They are the mercenaries or PMC's sent in by Umbrella to stop the outbreak in Raccoon City from getting worse, their objective went bad as soon as they landed from chopper transportation. As for my UBCS operative, I'm going to toy with it by mixing it around. Other than being my own UBCS operative, I can also try out b/t Carlos Olivera and Nicholai Ginovaef. When I played RE3 back then, I always thought of Nicholai as a that jerk of a traitor and I've changed my views on him afterwards and I respect him as a villan, I like how sinister he was in Operation Raccoon City.

Until then, wish me luck fellow cosplayers!
